A TOTAL of 5,588 Rural Transformation Projects (RTP) out of 7,328 approved from 2015 to 2025 have been successfully completed by local authorities across Sarawak.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian said the completed projects, accounts for 76 percent of the total approved projects and the local authorities have been allocated with RM106.67 million for a total of 738 projects in 2025, which are in various phases of implementation.
Under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), he said the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government was allocated with a ceiling of RM470.436 million for the implementation of various projects by 25 local authorities.
“As of April 30, 2025, RM 297.20 million (63.1 per cent) of the approved allocation has been disbursed for various infrastructure projects such as roads and drainage improvements, improvement of waterfronts, upgrading of markets, provision of street lightings, traffic lights, public toilets, public libraries, landscape beautification and also rural facilities and amenities.
“All of these projects are at various stages of implementation by respective local authorities,” he said in his ministerial winding up speech during the DUN Sitting here today.
Dr Sim, who is also the Public Health, Housing and Local Government Minister, said 16 local authorities have been allocated a total of RM1.23 billion to implement 189 projects under the various regional development agencies.
He said the ministry also receives funds from the federal government in the first quarter of 2025 amounting to RM42.45 million to implement various projects.
