KUCHING: Hope FC edges out GTD in a tough league battle to retain third place in the Liga Bandaraya
2025.
Hope FC secured a hard-fought 3-point victory over GTD in a closely contested match, maintaining their
position in third place in the league standings after five games.
Player-manager, Bryan Cheong, described the match as challenging, emphasising the competitive nature
of the league.
“No games are easy in this league, but we managed to get through with the win.
“Fair play to GTD – they made it as tough as they could. I’m proud of our team for the effort we put in to
secure those three points,” he said.
Cheong made these remarks to Sarawak Tribune when contacted recently.
With the win, Hope FC now sits third with 12 points.
Leading the table is Rayumie FC with 16 points, followed closely by Holdfast FC, also on 12 points but
trailing on goal difference.
Cheong highlighted the importance of every match in such a competitive league, where consistent effort
and resilience are key to staying in the hunt for the top spots.
Hope FC will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures, aiming to close
the gap on the league leaders and challenge for the title.
