BETONG: The Betong Malay Benevolent and Trust Board (LKAMB) donated seven cows for the sacrificial ritual in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
LKAMB Secretary, Mazidi Katang, said the cows were distributed to five suraus, a village committee, and a housing area within the Kampung Melayu Betong area.
“The five suraus involved are Surau Dakwah Kampung Tengah Betong, Surau Damai Kampung Hilir Betong, Surau Darul Taqwa Kampung Baru Hulu Betong, Surau Setia Kampung Baru Hilir Betong, and Surau Darussalam Kampung Melayu Passa Betong.
“The other two recipients are the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Masjid Betong and the Bebanggai Phase One and Two Housing Area,” he said when receiving the cows delivered by the appointed supplier at the banks of Sungai Kampung Melayu Betong on Tuesday.
He explained that the contribution was made possible due to LKAMB’s financial capability and commitment.

“We are providing the livestock required for the ritual sacrifice, which is an important act of worship for Muslims during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha.
“As a body entrusted with overseeing the welfare of the Kampung Melayu Betong residents, including the well-being of local mosques and suraus, LKAMB strives to give its best in fulfilling its responsibilities and trust,” he said.
He added that once the seven cows were handed over, all responsibilities regarding their management and any subsequent programmes would fall under the care of the respective recipients.
“If they choose to proceed with the ritual sacrifice, it is up to their own management.
“As far as LKAMB is concerned, our entrusted duty has been fulfilled,” he said.
