KUCHING: Roars of excitement filled the air as longboats powered down the river during the 2025 Sejijak Regatta.
The river came alive with colour and excitement as each boat sped past, pushed on by the loud support from people gathered along the banks.
The day was hot but happening and fun.
Locals did not mind the heat. They waved flags, shouted support, and enjoyed the lively atmosphere of one of Sarawak’s favourite traditions.
From small children to older villagers resting in the shade, everyone came together to enjoy the races, a true show of community spirit.
Nearby, local families turned their houses into small stalls, selling cold drinks and special regatta T-shirts to happy visitors.
Whether cheering for their team or just enjoying the day, many went home with big smiles and sweet memories.
