KUCHING: Job seekers and students in Sarawak will have access to more than 1,561 job openings at the 11th edition of Sarawak Career and Training (S-CaT) Fair 2025, to be held on July 5 and 6 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
The event, organised by the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak (MEITD) in collaboration with Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS), is supported by Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO) and Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (PETROS).
The fair will run from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on both days, and is expected to attract over 18,000 physical visitors and 50,000 online viewers from each zone in Sarawak.
Announcing the event at a press conference this morning at BCCK, MEITD Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said the fair aims to serve as a one-stop centre for students, graduates, youth, job seekers, and the wider community to access opportunities in education, training, and employment.
This year, more than 50 exhibitors including companies, higher learning institutions, technical schools, financial aid providers and government agencies will take part in the fair, which will also feature walk-in interview sessions supported by PERKESO offering job opportunities across sectors such as construction, manufacturing and energy.
PERKESO will also host a career exploration session designed to help students better understand career pathways and the evolving demands of the job market.
A notable new feature of this year’s fair is the introduction of the oil and gas zone, managed by PETROS, which will showcase participation from major industry players including PETRONAS, ENEOS Xplora, PTTEP, Mubadala, Brooke Dockyard and Petra Energy.
Visitors can also look forward to a variety of interactive and educational activities throughout the two-day event, including science and technology showcases, skill-based competitions, a crypto and blockchain day, rocketry challenges, planetarium experiences, youth speaker segments, children’s activities and live stage performances.
“For those planning to further their studies or seeking jobs, I urge you to take full advantage of the consultations and activities offered by participating companies and institutions,” Sagah said.
Last year’s fair was held in Kuching and Sibu, drawing a total of 29,068 visitors – 20,240 in Kuching and 8,828 in Sibu.
