SIBU: Swift actions by a coffee shop owner prevented major fire damage to her premises at Lorong 2, Jalan Maludan this morning (June 22).

The 46-year-old woman managed to put out a fire at her premises using tap water during the 2.59 am incident.

It was reported that the fire caused minor damage to about eight per cent of the shop’s structure, but no injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Sibu station were dispatched to the scene and confirmed that the flames had been extinguished.

The team conducted a situational assessment and monitored the area to ensure no potential reignition.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
