KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi have extended their heartfelt condolences to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on the passing of his wife, the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang.

In a condolence statement issued by Wan Junaidi yesterday (June 23), he said Juma’ani passed away peacefully early Monday morning at Normah Medical Centre here.

Her passing on June 23, 2025, which corresponded to 26 Zulhijjah 1446 Hijrah, marked a profound loss for her family and Sarawak.

Widely regarded as a pillar of strength, Juma’ani supported the Premier unwaveringly throughout his 48-year political career, sharing every challenge and triumph and serving as a steadfast source of encouragement and inspiration.

“She faced various challenges, obstacles and hardships alongside the Premier, serving as his source of strength and inspiration.

“As the saying goes, “Behind every great man is a great woman,” a phrase that aptly describes the significant role she played as the Premier’s wife,” said Wan Junaidi.

Additionally, Juma’ani was also an active contributor to charitable and welfare efforts in Sarawak.

She served as SABATI president and was dedicated to various community causes.

“This also reflected her steadfastness, sense of responsibility, emotional support, encouragement, and contributions to the strength of her household and the Premier’s career,” he said.

Wan Junaidi and wife prayed that Allah shower mercy upon her soul, forgive all her sins and place her among the righteous and faithful.

“We pray that the Premier and the entire family will be granted patience and strength to endure this most difficult time,” they said.
