SIBU: A friendly badminton match served as a platform to promote anti-drug awareness in conjunction with the 2025 Anti-Drug Day commemoration.
The event, held at MDS Badminton Court, Lorong Perpati 2 here last Wednesday, was officiated by Sibu Anti-Drug Squad (SKUAD Antidadah) chairman Raden Khairulzaman Raden Bestari.
Around 35 participants comprising members of SKUAD Antidadah Sibu and the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) Sibu branch took part in the event, which kicked off at 7:00 pm.
Raden Khairulzaman also took time to watch several matches between the two teams.
The initiative aimed to spread the anti-drug campaign by shaping public perception of the dangers of drug abuse through sports.
At the same time, the event encouraged youth to engage in healthy activities, steering them away from negative influences while fostering community ties and promoting a safe, active lifestyle.
The event concluded with a token of appreciation presented to all players, followed by a group photo session.
