Ministry hits 98 pct of 2024 targets, rolls out 39 online services

KUCHING: The Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication achieved 98 per cent of its Annual Plan targets in 2024, surpassing the previous year’s performance of 94 per cent.

The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Jafri Lias said it also met all stretch targets under its 2024 Scorecard, marking a productive year despite various challenges.

“The ministry also successfully met all stretch targets set under its 2024 Scorecard.

“Among other key achievements, the ministry rolled out 39 online services and had 52 work procedures certified under ISO 9001:2015.

“Additionally, it maintained a clean record with no outstanding payments under AP58(a), while bill and claim payment performance reached an impressive 99.5 per cent, the highest to date,” he said.

He said this in his speech during the ministry’s Excellence Service Awards (ESA) and Innovation Awards 2024 held at Damai Lagoon Resort here last night (July 4).

In terms of revenue, Jafri said the ministry collected RM677.62 million, surpassing its projected target by 107 per cent (RM634.90 million).

“The ministry also achieved 98.2 per cent in the Electronic Compliance Self-Assessment (eCSA) and scored 97 per cent in the Sarawak Government Asset Management Compliance Index, earning the highest score among all agencies audited by the State Financial Secretary’s Office,” he added.
