TOKYO, Japan: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg held a series of high-level meetings here as part of his two-day working visit to Japan.

During a half-hour session at his residence hotel on Thursday, the Premier met with top officials from Sumitomo Corporation to explore opportunities for strengthening collaboration between Sarawak and the Japanese conglomerate, particularly in the areas of sustainability and renewable energy.

Following that, Abang Johari chaired discussions with key partners involved in the Sarawak-Japan green hydrogen initiative, dubbed as the Hornbill Project.

The project brings together Sumitomo Corporation and Eneos Corporation from Japan, alongside SEDC Energy representing Sarawak.

The Premier later granted interviews to journalists from S&P Global and Nikkei Asia.
