TYT arrives in Miri for Sarawak Day celebration

MIRI: Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi arrived here today (July 21) for an official visit in conjunction with the Sarawak Day 2025 celebration.

Wan Junaidi and Fauziah touched down at Miri Airport at 2.40pm after departing from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang.

Their arrival was greeted with full honours and a warm reception by Transport Minister Datuk Sri Lee Kim Shin; Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Rosey Yunus; and Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, who also served as the accompanying minister.

Also present to receive Wan Junaidi and Fauziah were Miri Division Resident Galong Luang, political secretaries, as well as community and local ethnic leaders.

As part of the welcoming gesture, Fauziah graciously received a bouquet of flowers from young Arryanna Qaisarra.

The official visit marks the beginning of the Sarawak Day 2025 celebration, a significant annual event commemorating the state’s rich history and unity. This year, Miri has been chosen as the host city for the state-level celebration.

Wan Junaidi expressed his sincere appreciation to the Sarawak Day 2025 main organising committee for the kind invitation and its dedicated efforts in organising the event.

He also conveyed his hopes that all planned programmes will proceed smoothly and serve to further inspire love and patriotism among the people of Sarawak.
