SIBU: A 17-year-old boy was killed in a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Sibu-Bintulu yesterday afternoon (July 26).
The teenager was riding a Modenas Kriss motorcycle heading towards Sibu town when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a road divider.
District police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the incident was reported to the Sibu Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at 1.41 pm.
“The impact caused the victim to be thrown into the middle of the divider. He sustained serious chest injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement last night.
He added the front section of the motorcycle was badly damaged following the incident.
