GEDONG: Day two of the Regatta Gedong 2025 brought tense, high-speed action as crews fought stroke-for-stroke in tightly contested sprints, thrilling the crowd ahead of today’s (July 27) main showdown.
Spectators were on their feet as boats from various teams raced neck-and-neck toward the finish line, delivering an adrenaline-pumping spectacle.
Every paddle stroke mattered as teams pushed their limits in a test of rhythm, power, and teamwork.
Under the scorching afternoon sun, the energy on the water was rivaled only by the excitement along the riverbank. Families and supporters waved flags, snapped photos, and soaked in the atmosphere.
The coveted ‘King of the River 2025’ title comes with a cash prize of RM15,000 and a trophy.
The men’s 30-paddler boat race (King of the River – Premier Sarawak Trophy) is expected to be the highlight for fans lining the banks of the Gedong river.
The main event is scheduled to begin at 11.30 am today.
