DJI is set to unveil its first-ever 360-degree camera, the Osmo 360, on 31 July 2025, marking the tech giant’s entry into immersive video capture.

With early estimates suggesting a price of around AUD759 (approximately RM2,300), the device is expected to position itself as a direct competitor to established players like Insta360 and GoPro.

The announcement is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. EDT (8:00 p.m. Malaysian time), with a teaser video already generating buzz.

The short clip reveals a compact silhouette accompanied by the tagline ‘All in One’, suggesting an integrated, non-modular design aimed at simplicity and portability.

DJI enters the 360 arena

The Osmo 360 is expected to deliver high-resolution 360-degree video capture in a sleek and user-friendly form factor. While DJI has traditionally focused on drones and action cameras, this move signals its ambition to expand into the immersive content space.

Recent leaks point to some impressive features, including 8K video recording, advanced stabilisation, extended battery life.

These capabilities suggest the Osmo 360 is designed for content creators, vloggers, and adventure enthusiasts looking for professional-grade performance without complex setup.

A competitive option for Malaysian creators

With a potential retail price of RM2,300, the Osmo 360 could offer serious value in the Malaysian market. It’s expected to go head-to-head with the Insta360 X series and the anticipated GoPro Max successor, all while appealing to users already within the DJI ecosystem.

Compatibility with existing DJI accessories – such as microphones and mounts – would make it a convenient upgrade for users looking to branch out into 360-degree content creation without reinvesting in new gear.

Is DJI about to disrupt 360 video?

While full specifications will only be revealed at launch, early signs suggest the Osmo 360 could shake up the 360-camera market with a balance of premium features and practical design.

Whether you are an amateur creator or a seasoned professional, this could be the device that makes immersive video more accessible than ever.

With the launch just days away, all eyes are on DJI. Will the Osmo 360 live up to the hype?

Stay tuned for the official unveiling on July 31.
