

At the same event, donations from the company were also handed over to SK Spaoh, Spaoh and SK Saint Barnabas, Debak.
Khalid,in his speech, said the handover of such school stationery was an annual event for schools in the urban and rural areas.
“This is a Pekema initiative in line with its objective to address the underprivileged and disabled children in the state,” he said.

Khalid also stated, “Since 2010 until now, we have been channelling donations in various forms to those in need. They include those who are ill and disaster victims.”

Khalid added that Pekema through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme over the years had presented donations to cover medical expenses as well as donations to poor patients and victims of natural disasters.
Among others, he said, these included contributions to single mothers, poor people and education.

Also present were Pekema Sarawak deputy president Datuk Ismail Abang Saufi, its vice president Tapah Ata, SK Abang Leman Kabong headmaster Bujang Lee, Sarawak Pekema committee members and its other members.

“This is the only way we can contribute to the community and we hope to continue this kind of activity in the future,” Khalid said.
He stressed Pekema Sarawak aimed not only to spearhead the country’s automotive business arena, but also to become the association that contributed to the people the most.
