KUCHING: Seven media teams, including Sarawak Tribune, have clinched their spots in the Final Time Attack Round of the Initial M: Media SIM Racing Grand Prix, set for Aug 30.
One of the standout performers of the qualifying round was Sarawak Tribune’s Alverdtekoster Anyap, who clocked the fastest lap of the day, a blistering 1:36.040 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, earning him the title of best driver.
He followed that up with a solid time of 1:29.107 in his second race at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Monza Circuit), confirming his consistency across both simulated tracks.
Sarawak Tribune’s second driver, Gabriel Lihan, also showed marked improvement. He recorded a time of 2:02.234 at Pertamina Mandalika, before shaving down his timing significantly to 1:47.967 at Monza.
The seven media organisations advancing to the grand final are — Bernama, RTM, Sarawak Tribune, Suara Sarawak, KDJA (Kuching Division Journalists Association), The Borneo Post and DayakDaily.
These finalists were selected after a high-octane qualifying round held at Metadise Sim Racing, located at The Podium, here today (Aug 2).
The event was organised by Metadise Electronic Sports Club (MESC) in collaboration with Hazel Communication & Solutions Sdn Bhd (HazelComms) and the Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA).
