MIRI: A collision in the early hours of this morning left three men injured after two vehicles collided along Jalan Dato Sri Joseph Balan Seling near Pujut 7.

The crash, which occurred just before dawn at approximately 5.48 am, involved a Toyota Hilux and a Proton Saga.

Fire and Rescue personnel from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Lutong) arrived swiftly on scene at 6.02 am — just 14 minutes after receiving the distress call.

Two of the victims, who were travelling in the Proton Saga, were found conscious but trapped in the crumpled wreckage.

Firefighters had to carefully force open the rear doors of the vehicle to extricate the men, working in the dim morning light while monitoring the victims’ vital signs and keeping them calm throughout the process.

The third victim, seated in the Toyota Hilux, escaped entrapment but complained of bodily pain. He was assessed and stabilised by emergency responders at the scene.

All three injured men-aged 42, 21, and 40 year-olds, were handed over to paramedics from the Ministry of Health and transported to hospital for further treatment.

The extent of their injuries remains unknown.

Firefighters also cleared debris from the crash site to ensure the road could be safely reopened. The operation ended at 6.40 am after the scene was declared secure.
