KUCHING: The achievements of 173 outstanding students from the Pantai Damai constituency were celebrated in a grand ceremony on Saturday, where they received special incentives for their remarkable success in the nation’s major examinations.

The Pantai Damai Constituency 2025 Outstanding Student Awards Ceremony served as a platform to recognise students who excelled in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), and Ujian Penilaian Tahun Enam 2024.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for the Regional Development Agency, Kuching North City Hall and Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, said the students’ achievements were the result of discipline, perseverance and continuous prayers from many quarters.

“This is not the end, but rather the first step in a more challenging journey of acquiring knowledge. Continue your efforts, as the future is long and full of potential,” he said during the award ceremony here on Saturday.

The Pantai Damai Assemblyman also expressed his appreciation to teachers and parents, who serve as the backbone behind the students’ success, while urging the 18 schools in his constituency to maintain their momentum in academic excellence.

Of the recipients, 75 SPM students achieved at least six As, while 39 STPM students obtained a CGPA of 3.00 and above.

In addition, 59 Year Six pupils were recognised for their outstanding achievements.
