KUCHING: Kuching City FC has launched their Malaysia Super League 2025/2026 campaign with a statement of intent, dismantling Kelantan The Real Warriors FC 4-0 in a commanding season opener at home.

The Cats roared into action just six minutes in, when right-back Jimmy Raymond whipped in a pinpoint cross that Wanja Ronald Ngah met with a towering header to break the deadlock.

Their lead doubled in the 17th minute after Moses Atede split the Kelantan defence with a perfectly weighted pass to Joao Pedro Da Silva, who showed composure to lob the ball over goalkeeper Muhammad Azfar Arif.

Kelantan, under coach Elavarasan Elangowan, rang in changes after the break in search of a response, but Kuching’s control of the game never wavered.

In the 71st minute, Ramadhan Saifullah’s low delivery from the left was turned in by Ronald, completing his brace and putting the result beyond doubt.

The home fans at the Sarawak State Stadium last night (Aug 9) were treated to one final flourish deep into stoppage time when substitute Hazwan Bakri teed up Ramadhan, who finished clinically for Kuching’s fourth goal of the night.

Head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak’s starting 11 featured goalkeeper Muhammad Haziq Nadzli, defenders Jimmy, Rodney Celvin, James Okwuosa, and Scott Philip Galang Woods.

In midfield, Petrus Shitembi, Danial Amier, and Moses Atede dictated the tempo, while the attacking trio of Joao Pedro, Ramadhan, and Wanja proved too hot to handle.
