SERIAN: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates with technical expertise are encouraged to venture into entrepreneurship.
Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said they should fully leverage their skills to create new job opportunities in line with the Sarawak government’s policy of developing a competitive talent pool.
He said that the strength of TVET graduates lies not only in their technical abilities but also in their capacity to grow businesses that contribute to the local economy.
“Programmes like Entrepreneurship Day provide students with early exposure to thinking about how to start a business and become entrepreneurs.
“I hope future TVET graduates will be able to utilise their technical skills to become successful entrepreneurs,” he said when officiating at the 2025 Entrepreneurship Day of SJK Chung Hua Batu 35 here recently.
Now in its second edition, the event, organised by the SJK Chung Hua Batu 35 School Management Board, aims to introduce pupils to the concept of entrepreneurship while encouraging creative and innovative thinking, in line with the Sarawak government’s push to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
