KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia failed to continue their winning momentum after losing 0-2 to Vicsale Okinawa FC Nabiita Youth team in their third Group B
match of Jenesys 2018 Japan-Asean Under-19 (U-19) Women Football Tournament in Japan, yesterday.
Malaysian goalkeeper, Nurul Azurin Mazlan accidentally scored an own goal in the 26th minute before Makise Tamashiro added another goal for her team in
the 55th minute in the match held at Yomitan Village Athletics
Field, according to Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Facebook page.
For the record, Malaysia defeated Cambodia 3-0 in their second Group B match on Sunday and drew 0-0 with Laos in their opening match.
The national side will meet Singapore in their final preliminary match at Zanpa Point Ball Park, today.
Ten teams are taking part in the annual football tournament organised by Japan Football Association (JFA) with the cooperation of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to promote youth exchange activities between Japan and Asean countries.
The teams from Japan are their U-19 women’s team, Okinawa Prefecture High School Team, Vicsale Okinawa FC Nabiita Youth team while the Asean teams are from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore and Malaysia. – Bernama
