TOKYO: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan met with Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, Datuk Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany during a breakfast networking meeting in the Japanese capital on Monday.
Awang Tengah is representing Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the launch of Sarawak Week at the Malaysia Pavilion, World Expo Osaka 2025.
He will continue his working visit to Japan with a series of engagements with companies in the manufacturing, digital technology, renewable energy and aerospace sectors.
“Japan remains one of Sarawak’s key strategic partners, and we are committed to exploring new opportunities in trade, investment, and technology collaboration. Through Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), we will continue to promote Sarawak as an attractive destination for high-value investments,” said Awang Tengah during the meeting.
Also present were advisor to the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) Datuk Seri Mohd Naroden Majais; ministry Permanent Secretary Dzulkornain Masron; chief executive officer of InvestSarawak Timothy Ong and director of MATRADE Tokyo, Zuaziezie Zulkefli.
