Asia’s Offshore Energy Conference focuses on innovation, sustainability

KUCHING: The 2025 Offshore Energy Asia Conference Malaysia kicked off at Impiana KLCC Hotel today, bringing together industry leaders to discuss innovation, sustainability and collaboration in the offshore energy sector.

Speaking as the patron of the conference, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, highlighted the growing importance of offshore energy in Asia’s dynamic economies.

“This esteemed gathering has, over the years, become a cornerstone platform for thought leadership, collaboration, and innovation in the offshore energy sector across Asia.

“As we convene in this vibrant hub of progress, we are reminded of the extraordinary potential that lies beneath our waters, not only in terms of resources but in the opportunities to build a more resilient, sustainable and inclusive energy future.

“The energy landscape today is undergoing rapid transformation. Climate change, technological advancements, and global demand for cleaner alternatives are shaping the future of offshore energy and our challenge. Our responsibility is to harness these forces to power progress while protecting our planet,” he said.

This year’s theme, ‘Floating Production Solutions for the Future’ , reflects the conference’s focus on expanding offshore energy capacity intelligently, responsibly, and with a clear vision for the future.

“Asia, with its dynamic economies and growing populations, stands at a pivotal crossroads. We must act decisively to ensure that our offshore energy strategies support economic growth, while also aligning with global sustainability goals,” he said.

“I commend the organisers, partners, sponsors and all participants for coming together to share insights, spark dialogue, and form partnerships that will shape the next chapter of our offshore energy journey.”

Dr Hazland commended organisers, partners, sponsors and participants for fostering dialogue and partnerships that will shape the next chapter of offshore energy in Asia.

He encouraged attendees to commit to innovation, safety, sustainability and cross-border collaboration.

“May your discussions be fruitful, your connections be meaningful, and your ambitions be bold,” he said.
