KUCHING: The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) has earned national recognition, winning the Purpose-Built Convention & Exhibition Centre Excellence Award – Total Saleable Space 15,000 sqm & Below at the Malaysia Business Events Week (MBEW) Awards 2025.

The awards, presented by the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS), honour exceptional performance, service excellence, and significant contributions to Malaysia’s business events industry.

BCCK Chief Operating Officer, Rayner Simon, credited the achievement to the unwavering support of Business Events Sarawak, Sarawak Tourism Board, the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), valued clients and industry partners.

“This award reflects our shared commitment with partners, stakeholders, and clients to grow Sarawak’s business events sector,” he said.

“It is the result of years of dedication and hard work by the entire BCCK family, past and present.”

In 2024, BCCK hosted 519 events, attracting over 30,000 delegates and generating an estimated RM289 million in direct economic impact for the local economy.

The centre’s activities benefited Sarawak’s hospitality, tourism, retail, transport, and F&B sectors while creating jobs and business opportunities.

Upcoming events in 2025 include the Borneo Roads, Traffic and Transportation Expo (BRTTE) 2025, Rabies in Borneo 2025, World Veterinary Poultry Association Congress 2025, Sarawak Renewable Energy Forum (SAREF) 4.0, and the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) Conference 2025.

The new facility will feature larger open spaces with natural lighting, panoramic river views, a grand main hall, a multi-purpose hall, and additional breakout rooms, bringing the total to 34 across both centres.

A five-level carpark with over 1,000 bays and EV charging stations will add further convenience.
