SIBU: From hospital wards to the bodybuilding stage, Ahmad Alif Mohamad Merah has shown that no dream is beyond reach.
The Sibu Hospital nurse retained his Men’s Sport Physique Mr Sibu crown for the second consecutive year at the bodybuilding championship held at Kampung Nyabor MUC Malay Club Hall here on Saturday.
He also finished fourth in the Physique Below 170cm category.
The tournament was open to bodybuilding enthusiasts from across central Sarawak, including Bintulu.
Ahmad Alif’s fruit of success comes after a demanding preparation period that required daily intensive training, strict diet discipline and the sacrifice of rest time in pursuit of peak performance.
“Alhamdulillah, I am grateful. This achievement would not have been possible without the prayers and support of my beloved wife, the guidance of coach Wilman, and the encouragement of friends who have stood by me throughout this journey,” he said.
He admitted that the training phase tested him emotionally, but added that discipline and persistence ultimately paid off.
Ahmad Alif now sets his sights on representing Sibu at the upcoming 2025 Mr Sarawak Championship in Miri.
His triumph not only brought pride to himself and his family but also stands as an inspiration for young people to pursue their dreams regardless of the obstacles. – TVS
