Beyond Sarawak’s strategic importance, discussions focused on reviewing the unity government’s current achievements and ensuring that Cabinet decisions are brought before the consultative council as a platform for policy coordination, while respecting the diverse perspectives of coalition partners.

Unity government leadership consultative council secretariat, Chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, said the meeting also centred on the Mid-Term Review of the unity government’s performance, which is being finalised at Cabinet level before presentation to the council.

“The meeting unanimously agreed to assess the government’s performance, take into account constructive feedback, and give particular attention to strengthening the national economy and programmes for the wellbeing of the people,” he said.

The meeting further reaffirmed the importance of strengthening the economy to enhance competitiveness and spur growth, while ensuring that the wellbeing agenda continues to remain at the core of the unity government’s administration.
