MIRI: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, September 6, at the Imperial Hotel here.

The event will be officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, who will attend as the guest of honour.

ACCCIS, comprising 22 constituent members across 12 divisions in Sarawak, is expected to discuss several significant matters during the AGM.

“These include the adoption of the annual report, acceptance of the Audited Financial Statement, proposed amendments to the ACCCIS constitution, and discussions on motions submitted by its members.

The meeting will also appoint an auditor and determine the venue for the next AGM,” the chamber said in a press statement on Thursday.

The AGM will be preceded by a series of events on September 5, with representatives from various divisions arriving in Miri for a welcoming lunch hosted by the Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI).

The ACCCIS Young Entrepreneurs Conference 2025 will take place at 1:30 pm, with Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts I, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew as the guest of honour.

“The conference will serve as a platform for young entrepreneurs across Sarawak to foster communication, create business opportunities, and network,” the statement added.

The highlight of the event will be the launch of the inaugural ACCCIS Young Entrepreneurs Outstanding Awards 2025, which will recognise young entrepreneurs for their remarkable achievements and contributions.

The conference will also feature keynote speakers from MBSB Bank and Pay & Go, including Pay & Go chief executive officer Eddie Wee.

On the day of the AGM, the opening ceremony will feature speeches by key figures, including MCCCI President Ling Chiong Sing, ACCCIS President Kong Chiong Ung, and Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) President Datuk Ng Yih Pyng.

“The event will also feature the presentation of awards from the 2024/2025 Membership Drive Campaign,” it said.

Following the AGM, a tax seminar titled ‘Key Points on Malaysia’s Tax Reform’ will be held, featuring a keynote address by JP Datuk Kong Ling Long, National Treasurer and Chairman of the Small Medium Enterprise (SME) Committee of ACCCIM.
