KUCHING: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Kuching successfully organised the ‘Corporate Visit 2.0 – Start-up & Training’ programme on August 23 held at GEM Consultancy Kuching.

The half-day event was co-hosted by the Sarawak Entrepreneur Association (SEA) and Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM) Sarawak and was attended by 20 members from the three organisations.

The programme aimed at assisting start-ups through training in areas such as company registration and sales; provide guidance on business licensing, trainer and halal certification; as well as foster networking opportunities with stakeholders.

Key sessions included a step-by-step guide on company registration, sales training to boost effectiveness, an overview of Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) programmes and benefits, the halal certification application process and Junior Chamber International in Business (JIB) networking and pitching sessions with stakeholders.

JCI, the world’s largest international youth non-governmental organisation (NGO), has provided leadership development platforms for youths aged 18 to 40 since 1915 across 127 countries.

Established in 1956, JCI Kuching continues to contribute to Sarawak’s community development through character building, event organising and leadership professionalism.

SEA, founded in 2013, serves as a platform for empowering young entrepreneurs by providing networking opportunities across industries and facilitating international business connections.

PUMM Sarawak, meanwhile, is part of a national entrepreneurs’ association that supports and empowers SMEs through knowledge-sharing, networking and business opportunities.
