IPOH: Police have detained a woman who attempted to attack the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, during the state-level National Day parade here today.
Perak Police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the woman, who has a history of psychiatric treatment, was restrained by security personnel after entering the main stage from the side while the Perak state anthem was being played.
“Preliminary investigations found that the 41-year-old suspect has a previous drug-related record, although she tested negative in today’s drug test.
“The suspect also has a history of psychiatric treatment and is currently under specialist care,” he said in a statement.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 325/511 of the Penal Code. – BERNAMA
