“Six people were killed, and 24 people were shot, in Chicago last weekend, and JB Pritzker, the weak and pathetic Governor of Illinois, just said that he doesn’t need help in preventing CRIME. He is CRAZY!!! He better straighten it out, FAST, or we’re coming!,” Trump said on Truth Social.
Trump had previously allowed measures similar to the deployment of the National Guard in Washington to be taken in other major cities. In particular, the mayor of Chicago, Illinois’ largest city, Brandon Johnson, spoke out against this, demanding that his subordinates resist possible attempts by federal authorities to take control of the city.
