KUCHING: Twentivo FC emerged champions of the FOF Cup 2025 after an eight-week battle of skills and teamwork, taking home RM1,000 in prize money.
The community-based league, which ran from Jul 11 to Aug 30, brought together eight teams — Pisica FC, Simba FC, Twentivo FC, Solteiro FC, KBSBMA FC, Eighty90s FC, Apollo United FC and TXN FC — competing every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a spirited display of grassroots football.
Simba FC finished as runners-up, collecting RM500, while Apollo United FC secured third place with RM300.
Adding to the excitement, Mohd Nur Raziman Razali from Twentivo FC etched his name into the tournament’s history books, claiming the Golden Boot with 14 goals to his tally — a standout achievement that underlined the attacking flair on display.
Organised by Pisica Football Club with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the Community Sports Fund (Dana Sukan Komuniti), the tournament registered nearly 30 players for each team, involving youths from various religious and community backgrounds across Kuching.
The event was lauded for being played in the true spirit of sportsmanship, with no untoward incidents reported throughout its duration.
“The FOF Cup 2025 is more than just a football tournament. It has created a healthy weekend avenue for young people to channel their energy, strengthen teamwork and foster friendships across the community,” the organisers said in a statement.
Looking ahead, organisers hope to turn the FOF Cup into an annual event with the introduction of a challenge trophy, while also drawing even greater youth participation in the years to come.
