Actress Anna Jobling has postponed her work trip to Indonesia following the recent unrest in the neighbouring country, citing safety reasons.

The actress revealed that her visit was meant to include the premiere of her latest film “Sukma” in Jakarta. The event, however, has now been rescheduled to a later date.

“I was actually supposed to fly to Indonesia on September 4 for the ‘Sukma’ premiere, but after reviewing news reports highlighting safety concerns, it was decided to postpone. For me, an event like this would not be appropriate in the current climate, so we all agreed to delay it,” she said.

Anna also expressed sympathy over Indonesia’s political turmoil and prayed for the well-being of its people.

“Jakarta feels like a second home to me. I travel there almost every month, and my last trip was just before all this happened. It saddens me to see how serious the situation has become. I pray for Indonesia’s swift recovery, and my thoughts are always with them,” she added.

The 23-year-old star went on to say she was touched by Malaysians’ compassion towards their neighbours.

“I’m proud to see so many Malaysians extending their sympathy and aid to Indonesia. Even though we may sometimes have our differences, moments like this highlight the spirit of solidarity. Not only Malaysians, but people in Thailand and Singapore have also shown their support,” she said.

On a brighter note, Anna shared her gratitude for the overwhelming response to “Setia Itu Mahal”, which is now nearing its finale.

“I’m thrilled by the positive reception to my role as Dalina Rizwani. Honestly, I didn’t set high expectations. I simply gave my best and trusted the director and my fellow cast members. Alhamdulillah, the support has been truly heartening,” she said.
