KUCHING: Kuching’s Bosco Ng and Athan Yang powered into the semifinals of the SBA Junior Badminton Tournament 2025 after securing a straight-sets victory over compatriots from Kaliber Badminton Club.
The boys’ under-16 doubles pair looked dominant throughout their quarterfinal, brushing aside their opponents 21-10, 21-10 for a convincing 2-0 win at the Sarawak Badminton Association Hall.
Coach Rajeev Bijoy praised the duo’s effort, noting their resilience and positive attitude.
“They played well despite Athan carrying a minor injury, and I look forward to seeing them perform in the semifinals,” he told Sarawak Tribune today at the SBA Hall.
With the result, Bosco and Athan set up a semifinal clash as they continue their push for a place in the finals.
The SBA Junior Badminton Tournament 2025, which began yesterday (Friday, Sept 5), features under-12 and under-16 categories, and will run until tomorrow (Sunday, Sept 7), with players vying for state ranking and selection.
