KUCHING: La Promenade Mall’s Oktoberfest returns tomorrow (Friday, September 19), running every Friday to Sunday until October 5, with free concerts, dozens of food vendors and plenty of beer to go around.

Festivities will take place from 5:30 pm to midnight at the mall’s outdoor venue, with upgraded marquees, stage and sound for a bigger party atmosphere.

Hock Seng Lee (HSL) marcom lead, Abraham Tiong, said they are keeping the formula simple – good food, fresh beer, and great music.

He shared that this year’s edition will feature two beer and bar partners, dozens of food vendors, fun games, lucky draws and giveaways.

“Our Oktoberfest is a community event with plenty for friends and families. The vibes are great, and live music really adds to the festive atmosphere.

“This year, there’s even more room to dance,” he said.

Meanwhile, mall leasing manager, Angeline Ong, said returning acts include Mozaik and Time Signature, whose singalongs went viral in 2024, while newcomers like High Breed will be given a platform with support from Sarawak’s Tourism Ministry.

She added that despite ongoing expansion works, the festival remains at its usual outdoor venue, with temporary parking behind the mall.

“Next year’s edition will move to a new space within the expanded precinct,” she said.

The food line-up includes the mall’s own Terrace, Iced Bar and Aomori, alongside JP Mart and vendors from the recent Kuching Food Festival.

Inside the mall, HSL will stage its first Property Expo 2025, offering up to 25 per cent off furnishing packages for Jigsaw condos near Kuching Airport and discounts of up to RM18,000 on selected landed properties at La Promenade’s gated community and Samariang Aman 3.

Organised annually since 2022, Oktoberfest at La Promenade has become a staple on Kuching’s social calendar, drawing crowds with its mix of live music, food and family-friendly activities.

Entry to both Oktoberfest and the property expo is free.
