KUALA LUMPUR: Ayam Brand, a household name with more than 130 years of heritage, has reaffirmed its commitment to nutrition and community well-being through a collaborative corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative with Sunway XFarms.

The programme, known as #AyamBersamaMu, recently brought together 60 children from underprivileged backgrounds for a day of immersive learning centred on healthy eating and sustainable urban farming.

Beyond the event, the initiative is set to benefit more than 1,000 underprivileged individuals nationwide through the distribution of nutritious food aid.

The one-day event, held at Sunway XFarms in Kuala Lumpur, linked nutritional education with practical farming experience.

Children participated in a ‘Suku Suku Separuh’ nutrition sharing session featuring Ayam Brand products, a hydroponics farming workshop using repurposed Ayam Brand cans, and a guided greenhouse tour.

The day concluded with a wholesome ‘Farm-to-Fork’ lunch prepared with Ayam Brand ingredients and fresh produce harvested from the farm.

According to a statement, Head of Marketing at Ayam Brand, Teoh Wei Ling, said that the company believes nutrition and education must go hand in hand to create meaningful changes.

“Through #AyamBersamaMu, we empower children to understand healthy eating while also addressing immediate food needs in communities, building a stronger foundation for the future,” she said.

Sunway XFarms’ Chief Executive Officer, Afdhal Nayan, highlighted the strength of the collaboration.

“Our partnership with Ayam Brand demonstrates how collaboration can drive impact.

“By combining nutrition with sustainable urban farming, we hope to inspire children with practical knowledge while ensuring communities have access to nutritious meals,” he said.

Ayam Brand has long been recognised for promoting healthier eating habits among children and underserved communities.

For over a decade, its nationwide CSR programmes have consistently combined food provision with nutritional education to create lasting benefits.

Through a partnership with the Food Aid Foundation, the brand is expanding the impact of #AyamBersamaMu by distributing food aid to underprivileged groups nationwide.

This effort is expected to benefit more than 1,000 recipients, ensuring that the programme’s reach continues well beyond a single day.

By integrating hands-on education with essential food support, Ayam Brand demonstrates its holistic approach to addressing food security and fostering healthier generations.

The #AyamBersamaMu initiative reflects the company’s vision of making nutritious food accessible to all while inspiring sustainable living practices among Malaysia’s younger generation.
