KUCHING: Golden roll continues for Sarawak lawn bowls as they close in on their four-gold mission at the Borneo Games Kuching 2025.

The squad, led by two experienced coaches, Saiful Adli Sami and Nur Fithri Yaani Hamdin, added another gold in the mixed doubles category.

The formidable pair of Nur Fithri Armisya Abdul Rahman Abdullah and Mohammad Aryan Nazrullah Nazaruddin secured Sarawak’s third gold in lawn bowls after defeating Sabah’s duo, Nurafeqah Qhalisah Alham and Nur Azami Azlie, with a commanding 21-6 victory in the final at the Petra Jaya Lawn Bowls Arena today.

“Congratulations to both of them (Nur Fithri Armisya Abdul Rahman Abdullah and Mohammad Aryan Nazrullah Nazaruddin) for winning the gold medal in their favourite category,” said women’s coach, Nur Fithri Yaani Hamdin, to reporters.

She added that both players maintained outstanding dominance throughout the match.

“We only need one more gold medal to fully achieve our target,” Fithri added.

She is confident that the four-gold target can be reached as there are still four more events for her players to contest.

“Today, four categories will be held, namely men’s singles, men’s fours, women’s pairs, and women’s triples,” explained Fithri.

She expressed high hopes for at least two more gold medals from those events.

She further stressed that the players must remain focused and deliver their best performances in today’s matches.
