SIMANGGANG: A search and rescue (SAR) operation is ongoing for a 67-year-old woman with a disability who has been reported missing from her home at Rumah Rengkang Lepong Empeliau in Sri Aman here since Sept 30.

Th elderly, identified as Tumbu Landa, was reported missing by family members after they discovered that she was not at home at 5 pm on that day.

She was last seen heading towards a nearby farm and, despite efforts by her family and villagers, she could not be located.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said that on Oct 1, villagers assisted in the search from 6 am until 10.30 am but failed to find her.

As of today, the SAR entered its third day, led by Chimiam Duyu from the Sri Aman station together with 10 personnel and a K9 unit comprising two handlers.

The search team began operations at 8 am today at the woman’s last known location.
