SRI AMAN: Cleanliness of parks and surrounding areas is crucial in joint efforts to prevent the spread of diseases

Simanggang Assemblyman, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, said the initiative by the Sri Aman District Council (MDSA), in collaboration with the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), to organise a community gotong-royong activity reflects MDSA’s commitment to strengthening community ties and raising public awareness on hygiene.

“The activities carried out, including tree-trimming, cleaning the surrounding areas, and eliminating mosquito breeding grounds, are effective measures to ensure the village remains clean and pleasant,” he said during the programme on Thursday.

On a separate matter, the Deputy Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister said that the upgrading of drains and culverts from Kampung Bestari Pasir Panas to Batang Lupar will continue under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) with an allocation of RM500,000 to improve the drainage system and related infrastructure.

He added that issues involving old rusty pipes at Lorong 2, Taman Kurniawan, have been resolved with repair works completed.

“Additionally, the car park and penghulu jetty have also been upgraded to provide better convenience for local residents,” he said.

Harden expressed hope that MDSA will continue to work closely with local communities to maintain existing facilities and ensure cleanliness in the Sri Aman area.

Also present were Kapitan Kang Tai Hing and MDSA members, Balean Suji Inggol and Micheal Pillov Lachen.
