SELANGAU: Two store rooms behind a longhouse at Rumah Adi, Jalan Ulu Sungai Dijih, here were completely destroyed in a fire early this morning (Oct 21).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distress call at 3.21 am and dispatched firefighters from Selangau station to the scene, about 15km away.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the fire had already engulfed two store rooms at the back of the longhouse.
Firefighters extinguished the flames and prevented them from spreading to other nearby store rooms and the main longhouse using a water tank.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the operation concluded at 5.30 am. The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
