SIBU: Athletes from the Sarawak Judo Association (SJA) delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Johor Judo Open in Kluang, Johor, securing one gold, three silver and four bronze medals.

The gold medal was won by Ashley Tan Yi Xuan, while Soh Yew Ing, Mohamad Firdaus Apek and Mardya Fatasha Ali each claimed silver.
The four bronze medallists were Aubrey Ryvia Ak Medan, Ethan Lee Ming Hao, Nur Kzumyarah Elyana and Joyce Felixson.
SJA president, Datuk Seri Lau Kueng Chai, commended the athletes for their hard work and commitment, praising their competitive spirit throughout the tournament.
“They not only gained valuable experience but also showcased the promise of Sarawak judo.
“I believe the athletes have learned a lot from this competition. Everyone has grown, and it has opened their eyes to the intensity of the sport. They learned from their opponents’ strengths and worked to overcome their own weaknesses,” he added.
