MIRI: Pickleball fever is sweeping across Malaysia, and Miri is the next to join the action.
Odysportsz, the country’s pioneering pickleball brand, is teaming up with Hornbill Sports to launch a ‘Pickleball Workshop for Newbies’ – a hands-on introduction to one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.
Kicking off on October 30, the two-hour session aims to give first-timers the right start – from mastering the basics to understanding the rhythm of the game.
Led by a certified pickleball coach, the workshop promises an easy, enjoyable, and confidence-building learning experience.
The venue, Hornbill Sports Pickleball Arena at Level 4, MYY Mall, here, has recently undergone an upgrade, giving it a professional new look complete with modern facilities that cater to both beginners and seasoned players.
“We’re excited to open this opportunity to the public. Pickleball is more than just a sport – it’s a community. This workshop is the perfect way to introduce people to the game while showcasing our newly enhanced facilities.” said Nathan Kuek of Hornbill Sports.
With its blend of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, pickleball has captured the imagination of sports enthusiasts worldwide for its accessibility and social appeal. Now, with Odysportsz and Hornbill Sports leading the charge, Sarawak’s sporting scene is catching up fast.
Registration for the Pickleball Workshop for Newbies is RM30 per person, offering excellent value for a fun, practical session designed to get new players rallying in no time. Slots are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Interested participants may WhatsApp Coach Farrell at 017-8671203 to sign up. For court bookings, contact 013-5789779.
