BINTULU: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) dismissed viral claims alleging that a petrol station here was dispensing lower quantities of RON95 fuel following the implementation of the BUDI Madani 95 programme.

KPDN Bintulu Branch said enforcement officers conducted a thorough inspection of the petrol station after the allegation spread online, but found no wrongdoing by the operator.

“The inspection and testing confirmed that all fuel dispensers at the station were operating accurately and within the permissible margin of error.

“Checks also found that the pumps were still within their official verification period, as shown on the certification stickers issued by the Metrology Corporation Malaysia (MCM) Bintulu branch. The seals on the dispensers were found to be intact and unaltered,” the branch said.

Inspections were carried out in collaboration with MCM Sdn Bhd — the authorised body responsible for the verification, inspection, and testing of measuring instruments, including fuel dispensers, across the country.

“No irregularities were detected, and the case has been closed,” the branch said.

KPDN Bintulu assured consumers that regular inspections will continue to safeguard their rights and ensure compliance under the Weights and Measures Act 1972.

Members of the public are urged not to spread unverified claims that could cause unnecessary concern, and to report any suspected violations directly to KPDN via 019-8488000 on WhatsApp; e-mail to e-aduan@kpdn.gov.my; call 086-332176; and to Ez ADU KPDN mobile app.
