In the operations codenamed Ops Tapis Khas, the suspects aged 18, 22 and 24 were detained at the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) office for urine screening between 12:20 am and 12:30 am.
Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said preliminary tests found all three positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
“They were subsequently taken into custody under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“Further checks found that two were unemployed while another works as a labourer. Police records also showed that one of them had a prior drug-related offence under the same section,” he said.
Initial questioning revealed that two of the suspects admitted to consuming syabu a day before their arrest, while another claimed to have abuse drugs four days earlier.
Haide stated that the suspects have been remanded for four days at Bau police station’s lock-up to facilitate investigations.
