KUALA LUMPUR: Magnum Corporation Sdn Bhd (Magnum) has successfully achieved Level 3 Recertification under the Responsible Gaming Framework (RGF) by the World Lottery Association (WLA), reaffirming its commitment to safe and sustainable gaming practices.
According to a statement, the company first attained this certification in 2021, becoming the country’s first Number Forecast Operator (NFO) to reach Level 3.
Magnum’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Lawrence Lim Swee Lin, said the achievement reflected the company’s focus on embedding responsible gaming principles across all levels of its operations.
“We are honoured to have attained this recertification. This achievement reflects our steadfast commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and responsibility in the gaming industry.
“We take pride in fostering a culture of healthy play, not only among our customers but also across our employees and retailers,” he said.
With the latest recertification, Magnum continues to set the benchmark in integrity, safety and sustainability for the gaming industry.
For the record, WLA members undergo recertification every three years to demonstrate compliance with evolving Responsible Gaming standards and to show continuous progress in player protection, employee training and retailer engagement.
The WLA commended Magnum for its efforts, noting consistent progress over the past three years in enhancing Responsible Gaming initiatives for employees, players and retailers.
“Responsible Gaming is a cornerstone of Corporate Social Responsibility in the lottery sector,” they said in the statement.
“We are also pleased to see Magnum going further by supporting wider community initiatives and actively giving back to society, whether through monetary contributions such as the recent #ProjectMagnumHearts or through volunteering efforts under the Magnum Volunteering Programme.”
As part of its initiatives, Magnum holds an annual Responsible Gaming Week each May through its retail and digital platforms.
This year’s theme, ‘Balance Your Play, Brighten Your Day’, encouraged players to set limits and play in moderation.
The company also provides free tools such as the Gaming Health Check Form and RG Calculator on its website to help players manage their gaming behaviour.
In addition, Magnum works with the Gambling Rehab Centre (GRC) to support treatment and rehabilitation programmes for individuals facing challenges with excessive gambling.
