KUCHING: After cruising past Rare PJ FC 5-1, Hope FC are now setting sights on Red Deer FC, with manager Bryan Cheong emphasising refinement in possession and quicker ball circulation ahead of Saturday’s encounter in the Liga Bandaraya Kuching.

Despite missing several key players, Hope FC displayed impressive depth in their Gameweek 20 victory, with Imran, Marcel and Aril among the scorers alongside an own goal.

The team found their rhythm in the second half, where coordinated pressing and composure on the ball helped them pull away decisively.

Cheong praised his players’ adaptability, noting that the squad’s all-round quality allows every player to step up when called upon.

“A lot of key personnel were out this week, but that’s why we always maintain a strong selection of players, all starting calibre and ready to perform,” he told Sarawak Tribune recently.

He also commended coach-player Zul, who filled in effectively and earned the Man of the Match award for his composed display.

“The attack clicked in the second half, and Zul’s performance really anchored the team,” added Cheong.

With Red Deer FC next on their schedule, Hope FC are focusing on training sessions to fine-tune their play and address weaknesses as they aim to sustain their momentum in the closing stages of the Liga Bandaraya Kuching season.
