ACTOR Lee Byung Hun has been selected as the cover star for GQ Hong Kong’s special Men of the Year (MOTY) edition.

According to entertainment portal Allkpop, the feature highlights the actor’s long-standing influence in both Korean cinema and global entertainment.

Allkpop reported that GQ Hong Kong described Lee as a global figure whose presence extends beyond film, noting that the new photos capture his steady and controlled style, which the magazine refers to as “Lee Byung Hun’s time”.

In the pictorial, Lee appears in several outfits, including a black suit, a turtleneck, and a velvet tuxedo. Some of the black-and-white images show part of his face purposely hidden, adding symbolic meaning related to the different sides of his work and identity.

GQ Hong Kong also praised him, saying he is “not simply an actor but a master who has led change at the heart of Korean cinema for over 30 years”, and that his name represents “trust and class”, Allkpop said.

In the interview, Lee discussed the growth of global content, stating that as long as a project has a strong story and solid craftsmanship, it can resonate with audiences anywhere in the world.

He also shared that his understanding of happiness has changed over time, saying he now focuses on how happy he feels each day rather than viewing happiness only as a goal for the future.

According to Allkpop, Lee’s latest film No Other Choice has drawn nearly three million viewers and continues its nationwide run. The actor has also received international recognition, including the Special Tribute Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Artist of Distinction Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival, and a Best Actor nomination at the Gotham Awards.
