KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu FC (TFC) Head Coach Badrul Afzan Razali has been given until the end of the first round of the Super League to improve the team’s performance and results.

President of the Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) Hishamuddin Abdul Karim said TFC still has three matches remaining before the first round of the league concludes at the end of December.

Hishamuddin, who is also the Terengganu Youth, Sports, and NGO Development Committee Chairman, said that for now, the services of the 49-year-old coach will be continued, but his performance will be constantly monitored and evaluated by the TFC club’s technical committee.

“In fact, the first round is not over yet, and the target or Key Performance Indicator (KPI) we set for him is to be in the top five of the league this season.

“So, the (head coach) is still on the right track, it’s just that the team’s performance is inconsistent, and we understand the anger and anxiety of the fans,” he told reporters after the International Golden Monsoon Ride & Run 2025 (IGMRR 2025) Sponsorship Handover Ceremony here yesterday.

Hishamuddin, however, said any change in coach or other changes within the remaining three matches would be considered inappropriate to carry out.

“So, we will see how it goes (the head coach’s position) after the first round is over,” Hishamuddin said.

Meanwhile, he said a total of 4,200 participants from across Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore will join the IGMRR 2025, which will take place from Dec 19 to 20.

According to him, a total of 10 categories will be contested in the sixth edition of the championships, with total prizes exceeding RM150,000.

“The contested events include Men Elite, Men Open, Men Veteran Open, Women Open, and Women Junior Open, Men Open Individual, Women Open Individual, Men Junior Open Individual, Terengganu Men Closed, and Terengganu Men Veteran Closed.

“To enliven the championships, IGMRR 2025 will also organise a carnival-concept activity involving exhibitions, sales, street sports, and cultural programmes, which are expected to attract 15,000 visitors,” he said.
