KUCHING: SeDidik Sdn Bhd (SeDidik) is set to expand access to early childhood education in Sarawak by opening five new centres in 2026, ensuring more children receive quality early education regardless of location.

SeDidik Sarawak general manager Ayub Dahari said the new centres will be located in Samarahan, Mukah, Sibu and Miri.

“For 2026, we plan to open five more centres, namely the SeDidik Workplace TASKA at UiTM Sarawak Branch in Samarahan, the SeDidik Workplace TASKA at the Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) in Samarahan, TASKA SeDidik Taman Wangsan Mukah, the SeDidik Workplace TASKA at Sibu Hospital, and TADIKA SeDidik Bekenu in Miri.

“This move is not just a physical expansion but a reflection of SeDidik’s commitment to making early education more accessible and community-friendly, whether in urban, suburban, rural or interior areas,” he said in his speech.

Ayub was representing Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah at the SeDidik Sarawak Kuching Zone Convocation Ceremony 2025 held at SABATI Hall, here today (Dec 6).

Ayub said that in 2025, SeDidik opened five new centres — the Workplace TASKA at SeDidik Baitul Makmur 2 in Kuching, TADIKA SeDidik at Miri Hospital, TASKA SeDidik Betong, TADIKA SeDidik Jalan Kuda in Sibu, and TADIKA SeDidik Long Tebanyi, Baram, Miri.

Additionally, he said SeDidik is widening access for children with special needs through its Inclusive Education Programme to ensure every child, regardless of ability, can learn together as long as educators have sufficient knowledge and facilities.

To strengthen inclusive implementation, Ayub said SeDidik has equipped Educators and Assistant Educators with various training programmes such as the Early Childhood Inclusion Course, the Basic Malaysian Sign Language (BIM) Course, and the Teaching Young Minds with Autism & ADHD Course, among others.

The convocation ceremony celebrated 146 young graduates from SeDidik Kuching Zone who completed their early education.
