KUCHING: Hope FC put on one of their most composed displays of the season last weekend, controlling play throughout to seal a big win that boosts their Liga Bandaraya goal difference ahead of their next match against Metrostar today (Dec 6).

Manager Bryan Cheong said the victory reflected the team’s growing chemistry, especially in the attacking unit, which saw six different players such as Aril, Zuhayr, Dave, Alvin and Zack getting on the scoresheet.

“Yes, I think we have struggled with getting goals throughout the whole season, but the chemistry in the attack right now is sensational.

“Most importantly, it’s unselfish, as you can see with six different goalscorers today. We are proud of the boys, and with training and whatnot we are slowly getting up there,” he said.

Cheong also praised his players’ composure and decision-making, calling it one of Hope FC’s best all-round performances this year.

“We are really happy with the way we played. In terms of moving the ball and the composure we showed in possession and out of possession, it was really up there as one of our best performances.

“Being patient and choosing the right moments really contributed to the win,” he added.

The victory last weekend keeps Hope FC firmly in third place with 55 points as they prepare for another crucial test against Metrostar today (Dec 6).
