BANGKOK: Malaysia’s SEA Games journey reaches a thrilling crossroads as they gear up to face formidable Thailand in a do-or-die semi-final clash tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 11).

After finishing second in Group B, Malaysia now faces the top-ranked Thailand, who dominated Group A, in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter at the 2025 SEA Games Twenty10 (T10) cricket tournament.

Thailand enters the semi-finals on a wave of confidence after sweeping their Group A matches with commanding victories.

They started by dismantling Singapore with a flawless 10-wicket win and followed it up with a strong 9-wicket victory over Indonesia.

Their perfect record highlights their strength and consistency in the fast-paced T10 format.

Malaysia’s campaign has been a rollercoaster so far.

They started strong with a commanding 26-run victory over the Philippines, showcasing confident batting and disciplined bowling to chase down 67 runs with ease.

However, their momentum was challenged in a narrow 4-wicket loss to Myanmar, who chased down Malaysia’s total of 65 with minutes to spare.

Despite the setback, Malaysia demonstrated resilience to secure their place in the semi-finals, setting up a clash with Thailand.

Malaysia will need to bring their best game to overcome Thailand’s formidable lineup, as both teams fight for a coveted spot in the SEA Games final.
